We look forward to welcoming you to our first city break in the historic city of Chichester staying at the fabulous Chichester Harbour Hotel and Spa, located convenient for the train station. The hotel has the “Harspa”, which has a hydrotherapy pool, steam room, a small gym, four treatment rooms and offers Temple Spa treatments. We have allowed time within our itinerary for you to take advantage of the facilities in order to relax and unwind in the spa during your stay.
We looked at several hotels, including national chains, but prices have increased due to the Goodwood Festival of Speed the following week. The Chichester Harbour Hotel not only offered us more competitive rates, but the added bonus of a spa! However this has meant that we have had to shorten our break to four nights as hotels are pretty full later in the week though we do plan to offer our original full itinerary meaning that if you wish to stay on until Thursday afternoon you can join us on a visit to Fishbourne Palace, a Roman Villa with the largest collection of in-situ mosaics in the UK.
Because hotels are filling up nearer to the end of our break it has meant that sadly, we were only able to reserve five rooms at the Chichester Harbour Hotel. You will need to book early to ensure our place. Save money by booking before 4th October 2022.
We have a full itinerary planned for you which includes plenty of free time for you to explore this amazing city, or visit the many shops and coffee houses, or to relax in the hotel spa. Two of our days out include short travel by train the cost of which is extra with journey’s currently costing from a modest £2.15 return to £6.90 return with rail cards.
On our break, you can expect:
- Four nights bed and breakfast in single occupancy rooms
- A walk around the walls of the historic city as well as a visit to Chichester Cathedral.
- A visit to Arundel Castle & Gardens (entrance included) as well as an option for a stroll along the river or to time to explore the town on your own.
- A morning walk from Goodwood taking in her famous Iron Hill Fort. Lunch at The Fox Runs Free pub/restaurant and an optional walk in the afternoon around Kingley Vale Nature Reserve which contains one of the finest yew forests in western Europe.
- An optional visit to Fishbourne Palace after check out on Thursday (extra).
If you are travelling by car, free car parking is available at the hotel but you must register your vehicle registration on arrival.
