September 10th 2022 Walk in Pickering…St Edwards Fell Walkers

St Edwards Fell Walkers, who are based in Whitley Bay, have invited members of embark2 on one of their walks. St Edwards have been around for over 50 years as a walking group and offer their members walks on a fortnightly basis with coach pickups around North Tyneside and South Gosforth. For embark2 members, there is no need to join to book this walk, just come along and pay the usual member walk price.

The cost of the walk is £10 including transport.

One of the benefits of St Ed’s is that they offer a choice of walks for all levels of ability which you choose on the bus. For Pickering, there are the following lengths of walks:

5 miles – max 550ft ascent

7.5 miles – max 950ft ascent

10.5 miles – max1600ft ascent

12.5 miles – max 2150ft ascent

15 miles – max 1600ft ascent

8. Davidsons showroom, Shiremoor 8:20AM
9. Opposite Casa Antonio, Benton 8:25AM
10. Four Lane Ends 8:27AM
11. Wex Photo & Video, South Gosforth 8:30AM
12. Great North Road 8:35AM (Northbound walks only)

The coach stops for coffee on the way to a walk and there is plenty of time after your walk to buy a meal or a drink at a nearby pub or where this is not possible, a further stop on the way home.

Please let the booking secretary know where you plan to board the bus and do mention embark2 when you book. Do let us know when you book as we will do our best to ensure that embark2 members sit together on the coach, though cannot be guaranteed. If you book and plan to join the coach at Four Lane Ends, please drop us an email and we will meet you at 8.15am at the ticket machines. Car parking at the metro station is £1.20 all day.
